What I'm working on.

This is a /now page, inspired by Derek Sivers: what I'd tell a friend I hadn't seen in a year if they asked what I'm up to. Professionally, anyway. My personal version can be found here.

Skills Development Scotland: Digital Badges Proof of Concept

The Awards Network brings together over 30 youth award bodies across Scotland. SDS wanted to know whether an open-source digital badges platform could work across that whole ecosystem, from established providers already issuing credentials to smaller organisations with no existing tech.

I'm building that Proof of Concept with Nate Otto from Skybridge Skills, using Open Source Software: the Digital Credential Consortium's backend and ORCA on the front end. The live test site already has badges being issued to real participants from multiple providers. We're learning what actually works when you take an open-source approach to digital credentials at a national scale.

Digital Credentials Consortium (MIT): Wallet Attached Storage

The DCC is a university-led effort building infrastructure for privacy-enhanced, portable, verifiable digital credentials in higher education. I'm helping them communicate what Wallet Attached Storage is and why it matters: a piece of the technical puzzle around how learners store and control their own credentials, rather than having them sit on someone else's server.

INASP: Website Revamp and Strategy

INASP supports research and knowledge in the Global South. They needed someone who understands both the technical and strategic sides of a website rebuild: procurement, platform decisions, and the longer-term vision beyond the project itself.

I'm advising them on the revamp of their main site and the Rising Scholars network, a community of over 14,000 researchers in 175 countries.
